One of the greatest Marvel superheroes of all time is Iron Man. He is a flawed hero who devotes his life to making the world safer and a better place to live. Naturally, it makes the perfect superhero for a movie, and since the movie came out, it has opened up the character to a whole new generation of superhero fans.
Young kids will be running around with their Iron Man figurines, and the comic books will become hot sellers soon enough. As well, kids are going to want to emulate him at their birthday party, and that means that an Iron Man themed birthday party is your responsibility. So, how do you do it? Easy! You just need to think outside the box and use some supplies.

When the kids are over for the birthday party, one of the best things you can do is help them create little Iron Men. This is not dressing them up as Iron Men, but instead taking small little boxes, which can be made by cutting up cardboard and gluing it together before hand, and pipe cleaners for arms, legs and the neck. Then, you simply let the kids decorate their Iron Men in any way that they see fit. It is a good amount of fun for the kids, and it is something that they can take home with them afterwards.

One great thing to do is watch the movie. Once the 2008 version is out on DVD, you can rent or buy it. However, you could also rent them some Iron Man cartoons, and show them how it all started. There are plenty out there and the kids will be able to watch Iron Man while you prepare the birthday party cake and presents.
Iron Man Olympics
Iron Man is known for his strength, agility and more, so why not hold an Olympics in the house? Have the kids each compete in events like lifting a box full of pillows with 1,000 pounds written on it, or racing around the yard, seeing who can 'jump' the highest. This is a great way to get the kids running around and getting some fresh air, while at the same time burning off the energy of the cakes and other sweets. When they return home, the other parents will be thanking you.
Iron Man is a very popular superhero, and is now one of the biggest movies of the entire year, so don't be surprised if your kids ask for an this type of birthday party. Luckily, with some imagination, craft supplies and birthday party supplies, you can provide it to them.
